WHAT HAPPENS TO EGYPT?

After the protests of these days, now in major Egyptian cities the protesters again took to the streets to ask the president Hosni Mubarak, who controls the country for 30 years, to resign and open a new political phase. Unlike yesterday, the police intervened with less violence and only in the most urgent cases. The army continued to patrol and monitor the streets and squares, but did not intervene to stop the demonstrations and in some cases has sympathized with the demonstrators.
The most violent clash of the day occurred near the Cairo headquarters of the Ministry of the Interior: a few dozen protesters tried to storm the building and the police fired into the crowd, injuring several people and killing, according to some sources three protesters. The army would intervene stepping between the police and demonstrators to prevent further violence. It is estimated that since the beginning of the protests have died at least a hundred people between demonstrators and police. Mubarak appointed 'Umar Sulayman as the new Vice-President of Egypt. This is the first time in 30 years that the country has a vice president. Sulayman was for years the head of the secret services and could become the new President Mubarak when he decided to leave. The president also appointed former Aviation Minister Ahmed Shafik as new prime minister and will have the task of forming a new government. The appointments are not liked by the protesters, who for days require a strong sign of discontinuity. They're still there in the square and say that we will until Mubarak decides to take a step back, leaving the power.
